Eccentric Press
An eccentric press a machine that facilitates the forming and shaping of sheet metal through various pressure applications, most notably impacts. The work piece is pressed into the desired shape through a various number of impacts. This type of power press can perform several different operations, making it both versatile and cost-effective.
How does an Eccentric Press Work?
An eccentric press functions through what is called the eccentric mechanism, which entails converting circular movement into a linear movement. In other words, in an eccentric press, the force in the impacts derives from a motor which circulates an often off-centred cam and thus generates the power to strike the metal with a tool.
One of the major advantages of eccentric pressing is the very wide range of applications. A number of different tools can be used to perform a large number of different operations such as forming, bending, riveting and hole-punching in sheet-metal of all shapes and sizes.
This particular kind of machinery comes in a variety of styles, such as an adjustable stroke press or power press. It also has certain satellite machines which can be added in a modular fashion to improve the efficiency of the machine. One such satellite machine is a Press Feeder.
