Shears
A swing beam shear is an electrically or pneumatically powered hand tool designed to blank large pieces of sheet metal. It is designed to cut straight lines and relatively large radius curves. A beam shear is the best form of metal cutting tooling available. Specifically designed to cut sheet metal at a high rate, our swing beam shears are sure to get the job done quickly and efficiently.
How do they work?
Depending on the size of the machine and the required sheet metal thickness to cut through, the swing beam shear can use a hydraulic or a mechanical shear. In both instance, the blade will swing down from the top to cut through the work piece.
Due to the small shear angle, a wing beam shear is ideal from cutting out sheet metal blanks at a very high speed. The hydraulic type of swing beam shear also allows for control in the stroke and pressure of the cut. This means the work pieces can be cut in a way that reduces warping and distortion in the final product
